TZ: Embracing Your Ego And Using It To Your Advantage

When I first started in personal development I went to a LOT of trainings and asked a LOT of questions. One question an answer has always stood out, and has become extremely useful to me over the years…

I once asked a very happy, positive, successful multi-millionaire:

“What do you think has been the biggest thing that has helped you get to where you are today?”

His answer shocked me, he said:

“My Ego”

I was stunned for a minute, because I had just finished going through tons of spiritual trainings by Dr. Wayne Dyer, Deepak Chopra (who happened to be friends with this multi-millionaire), as well as many others that spoke of your ego as something that is not positive for you…

He continued to say “If you don’t believe you are one of the best at what you do, if you don’t expect to succeed at a very high level… then how can you ever get there. You have to expect it, then you’ll get it.” (when you believe it, then you’ll see it)

The learning that has stuck with me for years from this answer, is that you can still think and expect to be better than the norm… without being a jerk about it, and without feeling bad about having an ego.

To this day, this multi-millionaire is one of the nicest, most down to earth people I know. He never brags about his money or shows off to anyone. He would never say to anyone that he is better than them… and he would never look down on anyone or treat someone unfairly.

Instead, he has embraced his ego and used it to his advantage. He expects and truly believes, that he will succeed in everything he does at a much higher level than any average person… and that’s why he does.

Remember, as long as you don’t act like a jerk or act like you’re better than others… your ego can be a very powerful tool…

Because a big ego generally means you have a lot of confidence… and confidence is key in everything you do. When you are confident, you expect positivity and success… and you get what you expect.

TZ: You Get What You Expect…

Ever notice how most top athletes expect to be the best. They expect to win. They often exude confidence because their expectations are so high.

Take a second and think about what you’re expecting for yourself in your life right now. Stop and think about it really quick. Where do you REALLY BELIEVE you will be in 6 months from now in terms of your health and fitness, your relationships, how much money you’ll be making.

Be real with yourself and think about what you’ve been expecting in the near future.

Most people expect to be in the same job, to be doing the same thing, living in the same place. There’s nothing wrong with that, they just shouldn’t be surprised in a year from now when they are not in a different place, because you get what you expect.

Also – it’s not the same just to say it. You have to really believe it and expect nothing less. Affirmations by themselves will not create the result you want. Affirmations are a tool that helps to create and engrain beliefs in your mind.

The key is that you really have to believe it and expect it.

Training Your Mind For Positivity And Success by Talor…

Hey, it’s Talor Zamir.

In modern society, it’s important to start making a conscious effort to train your mind for positivity and success.

Unfortunately, news stations have found that they often get higher ratings by reporting stories about violence and other forms of negativity.

The problem with that is the majority of our society that lives in “Unconscious Incompetence” actually thinks they are doing what they are supposed to do by watching the news and staying informed.

You can’t blame or judge them – because in their minds they think they are doing the right thing. However, when you think about it… How can you be creating more positivity in your life when most of what you’re putting in is not positive?


Here is a list of things to COMPLETELY ELIMINATE FROM YOUR LIFE if you want to start training your mind for more positivity and success…

– The News (unless someone finally creates a “positive news station” – I’m keeping my fingers crossed Oprah!). Don’t read any negative stories in the newspaper either.

– All violent movies and horror movies. (keep this garbage OUT of your mind)

– All TV shows that have violence or any form of negativity. This includes shows about hospitals, all dramas, soap operas, etc… (You need to keep these images and negative drama stories OUT of your mind – which in turn will keep it OUT of your life)

– Commercials – do NOT watch TV commercials. These Commercials are designed to program people to THEIR benefit, and most “Unconscious Incompetent” people never even realize it! (If you like to watch TV – then record your favorite positive shows and comedy shows, and make sure you fast-forward through all the commercials)

– Negative people that complain, make excuses, and are not positively influencing you. You need to be willing to shelter yourself from those that are not positive influences. If there is someone you live with or simply cannot avoid that falls into this category, then you need to politely ask them not to speak about anything that is not positive while they are around you. This is a HUGE stand you’re making for yourself when you do this. (And you’ll be making a huge stand for the other person when you do this as well. This could be the biggest stand anyone has ever made for them and will completely change both of your lives for the better.)

– Anything else that is not a positive influence for you. Use your common sense. Think about what you are watching, what you are saying, what others are saying to you. Then decide if this is a positive influence for you or not. Your goal is to make a conscious effort every day to only let positive influences, positive images, and positive things into your life.


Start constantly putting new positive images, positive influences, and positive learning’s into your life every day.

With step 1 you’re now making a conscious effort to keep out and remove anything that is not positive… Now, with step 2, you’ll go one step further and start inundating yourself with all things positive that are helping you grow and better yourself.

Here’s a list of a few simple ideas you can apply to your daily life to start training your mind for positivity and success right now… (more advanced and detailed strategies will come later in this book)

– Listen to personal development, positive motivation, or positive spirituality audio’s everyday. Everyday while you’re brushing your teeth, doing your hair, getting ready for your day… Simply throw on a positive audio and let it play while you’re getting ready. This takes no extra effort on your part (other than putting on the audio and pressing play), and can add an extra 10-60 minutes of positivity and personal growth into your life everyday. (depending on how long it takes you to get ready!)

– Turn your car into a “Positive Mindset University” on wheels! Instead of listening to the radio or music, make a point to continue positively conditioning yourself by replacing it with more personal development, positive mindset, or positive spirituality audio’s. Again this really takes no extra effort on your part, and could result in hours upon hours of extra positive conditioning in your life.

– Write positive affirmations, say them everyday, and even put them all over your walls if you want! A couple of years ago I actually bought a bunch of plain white wallpaper – stapled it over sections of the wall in my bedroom – and started writing positive affirmations all over the walls in different color markers. Every time I walked into my bedroom I saw the affirmations, and it would trigger my mind to think about that positive affirmation and further engrain it into my unconscious mind. Although positive affirmations may seem like a very basic step that you may have heard many times in personal development… It’s important to realize how important it is to engrain in your mind all of the positive things you want in your life, and affirmations are one of the most powerful ways to do this.

– Starting Catching yourself and turning it around whenever you say something that is not positive. For example, if you ever say something like “I hate doing _____” – Catch yourself – then turn it around right away by saying something like “Actually, you know what, I’m going to do what I have to do today and I may as well enjoy it, so I’m going to start fresh and look at _______ from a different and a more positive perspective today”. That’s an example of catching yourself and turning it around – a very powerful step to growing yourself and training your mind for positivity.

– Get a coach or at least find a positive minded person to do “buddy coaching” with. Find someone who you like, who is a positive person, and who is also looking to improve themselves. Setup a time once a week to speak for 60 minutes. Spend the first 30 minutes listening to them and for the last 30 minutes they should be listening to you. Start the conversation by saying what you are grateful for and appreciate in your life, then go on to say what positive things you are committed to creating in your life, and what steps you are going to take that week to create them. The point is for you and your “buddy coach” to be there to support each other every week in your conscious effort to improve your lives and create more positivity.

If you notice – most of the suggestions above take little or no extra time for you to implement into your daily life… yet they can go a LONG way to helping you train your mind for positivity and success.

Talor Zamir’s Positive Mindset Manual – Because Your Mind Is The Real Key To Success

Hi, it’s Talor…

It’s important that you know what to expect, and where you’re headed after reading this blog, so I want to give you a little bit of a framework here.

I first learned this from studying NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming).

For the purpose of this framework – I’d like you to think of everyone in our modern society as falling into 1 of the 4 following levels.

  • Unconscious Competence
  • Conscious Competence
  • Conscious Incompetence
  • Unconscious Incompetence

Note: The purpose of this framework is NOT for you to judge anyone. You should not think that someone in one level is better or worse than someone in a different level. Look at this from a different point of view, and see it as simply a framework to help you move forward positively.

Let’s look at each of these levels so you can understand them a little more and see where you currently stand.

Level 1 – Unconscious Incompetence: Unfortunately, from my experience (I can only speak for myself) most people in modern society fall into this category.

Someone who is in the level of Unconscious Incompetence – is someone who doesn’t even realize that they have control over their life.

You can’t blame people for being Unconscious Incompetent – because everybody is doing the best they know how to do with the tools they have been given in life.

If someone has been conditioned from a young age that “life is out of their hands” and “you can’t control what will happen to you” – then they may end up living their entire life doing things that are negative and hurting themselves… But they don’t even realize that what they’re doing is having a negative impact on them.

Chances are – since you’re reading this book right now, you’re already past the level of Unconscious Incompetence, and you realize that you DO control and create everything in your life.

Since you’re past this stage, your goal should be to help everyone else that you see is still “Unconscious Incompetent”. Your goal, and the goal of this book – is to move everyone from “Unconscious Incompetent” to one of the next 3 levels.

Level 2 – Conscious Incompetence: After reading this book you will be in at least the level of “Conscious Incompetence.

Typically – when people start getting into Personal Development, they move from the level of Unconscious Incompetence – to Conscious Incompetence very quickly.

Conscious Incompetence is when you actually realize and discover that you do create your life and you are responsible for everything in your life and that you can train your mind and do something about it.

Typically when you realize this, you can look back at your “old self” and see so many instances of how you were being negative and hurting yourself and you didn’t even know it.

It’s important to realize that the past is the past, it’s over and done with – and now that you are aware and “Conscious” to the fact that what you think, what you put into your mind, and how you “condition” yourself will all greatly impact your life… It’s time to move forward powerfully from here.

Once you have moved from Unconscious Incompetence to Conscious Incompetence – the next step is to start “conditioning” yourself the way that you see will benefit you the most. This is where you start to move into the next level, which is Conscious Competence.

Level 3 – Conscious Competence: When you learn and apply the strategies in this book for “Positive Conditioning” and “Training Your Mind” – you will quickly move into the level of Conscious Competence.

Conscious Competence means that you are making a “Conscious” effort everyday to create your ideal positive life.

This means you are very aware and conscious of what you put into your mind (ex: you refuse to watch, read, or listen to anything that has to do with violence, negativity, or anything that is not a positive influence for you).

When you get to this level of Conscious Competence, you will not only be a positive person for yourself… you will also be an extremely positive influence to anyone who comes in contact with you.

In this level you are always making an attempt to help others see the positive side of everything, and you are constantly working on yourself to grow yourself and become a better person.

When you make a “Conscious” effort on a continuous basis to be positive, only allow positive influences into your life, and help others see the positive side of everything… You will very quickly create a “conditioning” for yourself that creates a perpetual flow of positivity in your life.

Level 4 – Unconscious Competence: After you’ve made a constant “Conscious” effort to train your mind and “condition” yourself exactly the way you want, you will eventually reach the level of “Unconscious Competence”.

Unconscious Competence can be compared to Enlightenment because when you reach this level, the perpetual flow of positivity in your life comes naturally.

Your mind has been trained and conditioned to the point where you can now do it Unconsciously.

(Think of it like driving a car, after you drive for a long time it often becomes an unconscious behavior – you don’t really have to think about driving, you can just do it without having to think or make a conscious effort like you did when you first started)

I don’t personally know a whole lot of people that are completely in the “Unconscious Competence” level. However, I would consider myself and many of my friends to be in between the levels of “Conscious Competence” and “Unconscious Competence”. Which means there are many positive things that we have conditioned ourselves to do “unconsciously”… and there are other things that we are still “consciously” making an effort to improve and create a more positive conditioning for.

Just by understanding these 4 levels, you’ll already have moved yourself to the levels of Conscious Incompetence… and when you finish reading the rest of this book and starting applying it, you’ll have moved yourself to Conscious Competence.

This alone is a great achievement, and will put you in the top 1 percentile of positive people in modern society.

When you continue to apply these principles, condition yourself for positivity, and grow yourself everyday… you will start to see what the level of “Unconscious Competence” looks like. This is where you’re headed to starting now.
